Lenovo Thinkpad T61 is the best breed among any Lenovo's laptops. Targeted for business users, this remarkable and legendary laptop is equipped with up to 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 14.1" or 15.4" widescreen display. As a replacement of the previous T60 model, the T61 is 1 inch thicker but still carry its reputation of being solid built laptop that features sturdy ThinkPad Roll Cage to protect the notebook body, plus the new Top Cover Roll Cage to give extra protection to the display. Below are some awesome features that come standard with this laptop :

T61 Overview

  • Keyboard
    Have you ever spill water on your laptop or heard the story that someone did that? With the new T61's spill resistant keyboard you do not have to worry when someday this kind of accident happened to you. The secret lies in the special drain holes that channel liquids to the bottom of the laptop to minimize any damages.
  • Active Protection System
    Lenovo/IBM must have realized that there are tons laptop's accident cases that related to hard drive malfunction. The Active Protection System (APS) is a feature to solve just that. When you are moving around your laptop, the system can automatically detect the vibrations and adjust the hard drive's head to a park position to prevent data loss.
  • Fingerprint Reader
    Like any modern laptops nowadays, the T61 also equipped with fingerprint reader to make it easier for users to access their account. Users are able to store all of their password into the special security chip that can be easily retrieved by just swiping their fingers.
  • Rescue and Recovery
    The T61's hard drive contains a hidden partition just in case of operating system crash and become unbootable. Restoration is pretty quick and able to restore the laptop to its original state.
  • Linux Preloads
    You now can choose Linux as the standard operating system. Lenovo currently only offers Suse Enterprise Desktop 10 from Novell.

Currently, Lenovo offers three different base models that you can configure to match your needs. The cheapest one comes with 14.1" standard or widescreen display while the higher end models comes with 15.4" widescreen display.

Lenovo Thinkpad X300 is the newest addition in the Thinkpad notebooks line. This ultraportable notebook is rumored to have the following specs :

X300 Overview

The Thinkpad X300 is officially released. As the rumors said, the X300 is equipped with SSD hard drive, which means that this laptop's hard drive contains no moving parts (so you have less things to worry when you travel around with this laptop) thus it is more energy efficient than other laptops that use "traditional" hard drive. Lenovo claims that the X300 can stay up to 10 hours without being plugged in to its power adapter.

Lenovo is making a smart move by offering this laptop without sacrificing its functionalities. You will find stereo speakers, built in camera, and most importantly : integrated DVD burners.

Rated EPEAT Gold for low energy use and minimal impact on the environment, Lenovo claims that the X300 is the greenest Thinkpad ever. The X300 also 25% less energy consumptions than the previous X series models.
